We’re Raglan Rock Adventure Co, an outdoor adventure company located right here in Raglan! Most people know Raglan for its incredible waves, but did you know we also have some incredible Rock Climbing, Caving and Canyoning as well?! Luckily for you, one passionate climber did, and so the story of Raglan Rock began!

Our story began back in 2012 with Gareth Jones, an avid climber armed with a backpack, a rope, and a whole heap of passion for getting people outdoors. What started as a simple guiding journey quickly grew into something much bigger: a company built on adventure, connection, and a deep love for the wild places around Raglan.
Fast forward a few years (and quite a lot more gear), and that passion has attracted a growing crew of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts. Among them was Harry, who spent seven years working alongside Gareth, guiding, growing the company, and chasing adventures in canyons, caves, and on rock faces. In true adventure style, Harry eventually took the leap and stepped into ownership, carrying the original vision forward while shaping the next chapter of the company.
Today, we offer a wide range of exhilarating adventures and courses from rock climbing experiences and skills courses, to canyoning and caving, by day or by night. Whether you’re abseiling waterfalls surrounded by glow worms, exploring underground labyrinths, or climbing at some of the most stunning locations Aotearoa has to offer, our aim is simple: unforgettable adventures, delivered with care, humour, and heart.
We’re incredibly proud to have shared these experiences with people from all over the world for more than a decade, and we’re passionate about showcasing just how special Raglan and its surrounding landscapes really are.
Safety and professionalism are at the core of everything we do. We are certified by Adventure Mark for compliance with the New Zealand Safety Audit Standard for Adventure Activities and proudly support the New Zealand Outdoor Instructors Association. All our guides are fully trained and qualified in their respective disciplines, and through ongoing in-house and external training, we strive to operate well above industry best practice.
Nowadays, times have changed, we’ve got more than one passionate climber and definitely more than one gear pack! Our team is made up of dedicated outdoor lovers, and we genuinely see ourselves as one big whānau. So much so, that even on our days off, you’ll probably find us together down a canyon, deep in a cave, or dangling happily off a rock face.
We do what we do because nature has a way of grounding us, challenging us, and reminding us what really matters. Our goal is to help you experience that magic for yourself.
