Do I need experience?

Real Rock Climbing ExperienceNo experience is required. Our Real Rock Climbing Experience is designed for beginners, and our instructors will guide you through everything you need to know to climb safely and confidently.Sport Climbing Lead Courses & Traditional Climbing CoursesSome prior rock climbing experience is needed for these courses, as they involve more advanced skills and techniques. Full details about prerequisites can be found on each specific course page.

What fitness level do I need?

A general level of fitness is helpful, but you don’t need to be an athlete. Our Real Rock Climbing Experience is beginner‑friendly, and we tailor climbs to suit your ability.

Can children participate?

Yes! Children aged 8 and above can join the Real Rock Climbing Experience. For technical courses (Lead or Trad), participants must meet the minimum age and experience requirements listed on each course page.

Do you take photos?

Yes! Our instructors often take photos during the session. These are shared with you afterwards at no extra cost.

What should I bring?

A great attitude is the most important thing. Check the weather forecast before your trip and dress appropriately for the conditions. We always recommend packing a light rain jacket, as the weather can change quickly.Bring snacks, lunch, plenty of water, and your own climbing gear if you have it.If you don’t have any gear, no problem, we provide everything you need, including climbing shoes, harness, helmet, belay device, rope, carabiners, and all required personal safety equipment.

 Verified A Must-Do Adventure in Raglan
My two daughters and I had an absolute blast canyoning with Amy! Her experience , knowledge and professionalism were outstanding, and she was a true role model and adventurer. The river was amazing to traverse, and the glowworm canyon in the dark was such an exciting and unforgettable experience. We made some incredible memories together. The equipment was excellent, and the wetsuits were warm and comfortable, which made the whole adventure even more enjoyable.  Verified Amazing adventure
We went canyoning yesterday and had an amazing experience! Our guide Francesco (I hope I’m spelling it right!) was fantastic – he explained everything clearly, helped us whenever we needed, and kept the energy up by chatting with us the whole time. The route was beautiful and all the information on the website matched what we got. We really enjoyed the whole adventure and might come back to try some of the other activities in the future.  Verified Amazing adventure 10/10
Absolutely fabulous caving experience with Raglan Rock! I went with my 8yr old boy who was excited but nervous. Our guide made him so confident and comfortable with her expertise and support that we had a wonderful time and he was able to get into even the highest and smallest of cave spaces in the tour. I had no idea it would be so spectacular or adventurous. We had a private guide for the 2 of us (even though we only booked a group tour). 10/10 would recommend. I’d bring a water bottle and a change of clothes. Wear shoes that can get wet and are easy to walk in. It’s a bit of a hot hike up a few hills before you reach the caves but it’s 100-% worth it.
